Please join us on Zoom for a screening of TEAM MERYLAND and a conversation with the storyteller, Meryland Gonzalez (she/her), hosted by Annie Rezac.

Join us on March 20th for an inspiring session featuring the film “Team Meryland,” followed by a discussion with the remarkable athlete herself, Meryland. We will highlight the importance of supporting women in breaking barriers and the power of the community in achieving success. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate Women’s History Month with an engaging and motivational story.

Date & Time: March 20, 2025 | 11:00-12:15 pm CT (75 min)

Meryland Gonzalez is a female boxer from the city of Watts in South Central Los Angeles. At only 10 years of age, Meryland had already overcome many obstacles. She began boxing at 8 and has already won numerous belts, trophies, and medals. She's a Junior Olympic Gold medalist and a 9x National Champion, intending to attend the 2028 LA Olympics while remaining in school at UC Berkeley. Even with this big goal in mind, Meryland’s community remains close to her heart; her family, including herself, developed a project named 5 LA New Beginning to help families and motivate kids to be someone great. One day, she hopes to create a boxing gym in her neighborhood, bringing exposure and opportunities to other children. She is recently hosting a boxing show on August 25 in Watts for kids in the community to come watch!
